Wang Haijun 2011 U.S. Summer Camp Tuesday, June 14 - Sunday, June 19 Master Wang's 2011 U.S. Summer Camp will be held at The Abode of the Message, a Sufi retreat center and former Shaker community. This hidden gem is built on 400 acres of land in the Berkshire Mountains in New Lebanon, New York. This opportunity for five days of intensive study will advance your Chen taiji practice by leaps and bounds! The focus of this year's camp will be Lao Jia Yi Lu (Old Frame First Road), but other topics and practices may be introduced as well. The surroundings are beautiful, whether you remain mostly on the serene and tranquil grounds of The Abode, or venture out into the eastern New York/western Massachusetts countryside. The practice facilities range from the beautiful outdoors in the morning, when it's cooler, to a full-size gymnasium/basketball court for the remainder of the day. The lodging is simple and peaceful. You can share a room, or put in a request for a single room (limited). Bathrooms are shared private shower/toilet rooms, with public sinks. The food will be one of the most outstanding aspects of your stay. The kitchen staff at The Abode prepare meals with produce from their own organic farm. (Normally a vegetarian menu, they bring in meat and seafood for us hard-working, protein-starved Chen taiji students!) And of course, the company and camaraderie of your fellow Chen taiji students will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.
